Freddie Fixer Transportation For Seniors And Elderly Residents of The City of New Haven.

Currently There Is A Limited Number Of Transportation Agencies Receiving Millions Of Dollars To Provide Transportation To Our Elderly, Seniors, The Temporarily Injured & Disabled, Minorities And Those Living In Urban Areas Within The Greater New Haven Area.

However, Priorities Have Been Placed On a "Select Few" Recipients Who Are Casual Riders, Versus Those Receiving Dialysis Treatment, And Those Who Have Other Disabilities That Rely On This Type Of Service To Get To Work, And To Get To Medical Appointments.

Those Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following:

The Greater New Haven Transit District (My-Ride)

840 Sherman Avenue, Hamden, CT.

Kimberly L. Dunham, Deputy Executive Director

203-288-6282

(This Agency Is Governed By A Board of Directors Represented By Members Appointed By The Mayors And/Or Selectmen Of The Town In Which They Reside.

The Person(s) Appointed By The Mayor Of New Haven  As Of March 13, 2015 Are:

*Douglas Hausladen

161 Park Street

New Haven, CT. 06511.

Term Expires: 3/31/2019

* Carol Nardini

135 Fountain Street

New Haven, CT. 06515

Term Expires: 3/31/2017

*Donald Dimenstein

140 Lakeview Terrace

New Haven, CT. 06515

Term Expires: 3/31/2016

There Is Currently One (1)  Vacancy For The Board Member Position For The City Of New Haven

Yet, The Majority Of Recipients Who May Be Eligible Primarily in The New Haven Area, Are Not Aware Of These Programs To Which They Are Entiltled To Under Federal Laws Regarding The Americans With Disabilities Act. (ADA)

However, Prior To The Economic Crisis That Has Plagued This Country Since The Latter Part Of 2007, The Senior Citizens And The Elderly With Disabilities In The New Haven Area, Have Not Received The Adequate Amount Of Transportation To Which They Are Entitled.

To Ensure That They Can Make Thier Doctors' Appointments On Time, Obtain Their Groceries When Needed, And Secure Transportation For Recreational Opportunities When Their Loved Ones Are Unable To Do So, The Freddie Fixer Transportation Project Is Currently In Its Seventh Year Of Preparation.

Because Of Mandatory Obligations Such As Work, Children, Or Living Outside Of The State Or Geographical Area Where Their Parents Or Loved Ones Reside, Many Immediate Family Members Cannot Provide Rides to Their Mothers, Fathers, Grandmothers, Foster Parents, Etc.

Therefore, The Freddie Fixer Transportation Project Will Be Critical In Ensuring That There Are No Racial Inequalities In The Fair Share Of Ride Distribution To Those Who Reside In The New Haven Area, When The Agencies Who Are Receiving Millions Of Dollars In Federal Monies Fail To Do So.

Please Look For More Information And Updates About The Freddie Fixer Transportation Project In The Immediate Future.

In Addition, Your Tax-Deductible Donations Can Be Made All Year Long Towards This Effort.

Thanks For Your Donations And Support In Advance!
